About Me

Welcome! I’m Mary

I am a somatic-centered (body-based) psychotherapist who believes in the mind-body connection to promote healing and growth of the individual. As a trauma-informed, strengths-based therapist, I have worked with a variety of neurodivergent and neurotypical clientele, ranging from children to adults, in both group and individual settings.

I began my education at Oklahoma City University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Dance Performance with a minor in psychology. Although I did not realize it at the time, these two areas of study would eventually come together to help me discover a greater purpose and passion. At Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado, I earned a Master of Arts in Somatic Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Dance/Movement Therapy, which is the “psychotherapeutic use of movement to promote emotional, social, cognitive, and physical integration of the individual” (ADTA.org).

Since graduating, I have continued to pursue education and experience in the field. I have worked in an early childhood center for children with autism and similar developmental delays and disabilities; in a residential and out-patient clinical treatment facility, working with children who experienced trauma and neglect; as an in-home movement therapist for children with developmental and intellectual disabilities; and in a private practice setting, providing individual therapy to children and adults.

I genuinely believe in this important work, and I know with my whole being it is what I am meant to do. Being able to support clients through challenges, build on their strengths, and promote well-being is a privilege and an honor. Through the use of somatic practices, neuroscience, attachment theory, EMDR, developmental movement, the polyvagal theory, and Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics, I aim to see and treat each client as an individual and support them in coming into their fullest potential. I am committed to being fully present with and accepting of clients, meeting them exactly where they are emotionally and developmentally, and I continually build on my education and practice so I can grow in my own capacity as a therapist.
